
The patented infinium® contact free linear sensor finds many applications in the medium resolution absolute encoder range.
Formed from a photodiode array and a single beam-split laser diode shining through a printed moving
shutter, a typical system spatial resolution is 0.4mm although higher interpolated precision is possible.
Manipulation of the shutter code geometry makes customisation economic and fast in many applications.
The beam splitter, shutter and optical receiver covers are precision moulded components manufactured
by infinium® and may be combined into third party sensors where a direct digital position measurement
is required. Plastic components clip into place on the application circuit board and full integration support, including typical application schematics and software examples, is available.
A single cell resolves 64 positions and may be cascaded to cover the measurement range required. If no cascade is required then 1 cell can resolve 128 positions in isolation.
